Butte County Firefighters Benevolent Foundation Scholarships

The Butte County Firefighters Benevolent Foundation began giving annual scholarships to local college seniors in 2018 as yet another way to give back to our community. Each year, the Butte County Firefighters Benevolent Foundation chooses two local students to give scholarships to based on specific criteria.

For students to be considered for the scholarship, they must submit their Grade Point Average (GPA), field of study, and hours of volunteer service. Once those criteria are met, the finalists are chosen based on an essay and letter of recognition.

Students who are interested in this scholarship are encouraged to apply through the Chico Community Scholarship Association. Only graduating seniors with plans to attend college will be considered for this scholarship.

In 2018, our scholars were Sean Hoska and Madelin Keen of Pleasant Valley High School. Both Hoska and Keen exceeded our criteria and expectations. We wish these two luck and prosperity in the future as they head off to college and beyond. We expect great things from them!
