BCFBF Scholarships

HELPING STUDENTS

The Butte County Firefighters Benevolent Foundation began giving annual scholarships to local High School Seniors in 2018 as yet another way to give back to our community. Each year, we award one scholarship through the Chico Community Scholarship Association (CCSA) and two through the Butte County Firefighters Benevolent Foundation. The scholarship recipients are chosen through specific criteria.

For students to be considered for either scholarship, they must seek a career or interest in public service, GPA, community  or volunteer service, to name a few. Once those criteria are met, the finalists are chosen based on an essay and letter of recommendation. Only graduating seniors with plans to attend college will be considered for this scholarship.

Past Scholarship Recipients

In 2018, our first scholars were Sean Hoska and Madelin Keen of Pleasant Valley High School (pictured here). Both Hoska and Keen exceeded our criteria and expectations. We wish these two luck and prosperity in the future as they head off to college and beyond. We expect great things from them!
